Messing around with a digital sign computer
« on: February 12, 2021, 02:32:58 PM »
The other day I was  on ebay and I seen someone was selling a bright sign computer. So I gave them a lowball offer and they took it!
I have it plugged into a 15 inch PC screen that I had laying around and now it shows my weather link current temputures at 6am till 6pm. then it turns off the screen.

I had it displaying my feed from twitter for a while but then it stopped working.

Its a BrightSign XD1132. Lot of info at https://www.brightsign.biz/index.php?cID=210 that tells what it can do. Being that it is a older model of the line I can only download a older version of there software (BrightAuthor) The software uses a SD card to format the computer for your network. after the hardware is working on your network you then can use the software BrightAuthor to make displays. as of right now mine is just loading this url https://www.weatherlink.com/embeddablePage/show/990adc812463435aacbbb75599c162e6/fullscreen
