The Weather Observer's Handbook
« on: September 02, 2014, 10:29:29 AM »
Has this (2012) Wx handbook been introduced here already?  Maybe we have a new guidebook about how to select and site our weather stations.  I have been reading pages from The Weather Observer's Handbook at this site http://books.google.com/books?id=yPfWfTe01FwC&printsec=frontcover&dq=the+weather+observer's+handbook&hl=en&sa=X&ei=F7cFVPe-IYnKggS-54HAAg&ved=0CCsQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false  First published 2012  More than 435 pages.
I ordered a paper copy which will arrive 9/9/2014.  Does anyone have a copy of this book?  I'm reading it online but I must hold the paper to comprehend fully.

I read it and thought it was excellent. I actually thought about giving it out as a Xmas gift to several PWS station owners in my area as a hint, hint.

Excellent book. I highly recommend it! Got me thinking about how I can download my existing data into a spreadsheet to develop my own climate stats.

Received my copy yesterday.  Read only the topics and some interesting paragraphs.  This book should be designated as the absolute reference for answering many of the questions posted on WxForum.
This book to us should be like the "Radio Amateur's Handbook" is to ham operators.
Buy your paper edition $35 or the Nook version less than $20.
