NWS Seeks a Cooperative Station Observer
« on: August 26, 2014, 02:47:25 PM »
If you live in or near Covington, Georgia you may be interested in becoming a weather observer for the National Weather Service.  The following announcement was made by the Observation Program Leader of the Weather Forecast Office in Peachtree City, Georgia.

Does anyone here have friends or relatives that live within 5 miles of downtown Covington? I have a Historical Climate Network (over 150 years of records) COOP observer site there where the previous observer quit. This site would have an 8 inch standard rain gauge and a Max/min thermometer set allowing for daily reporting of precipitation and high/low/current temperatures.

Contact the OPL at Peachtree City or me and I'll put you in touch with him.
Al Washington, I operate NWS Coop station LXTG1
