Vantage Pro ISS power with AC adapter??
« on: January 09, 2013, 08:34:04 PM »
I see within an ISS manual, one can use an optional AC adapter.  Is this the same adapter that goes with a console??  Can you actually power the ISS with this so there is no need for solar or battery??

Yes, and yes (...no need for...).

In the usual situations, you will want to cut the wire and extend it, so you can plug in the "wall wart" indoors.

You are the man Dalecoy........I have run my 100 foot outdoor extension cord and used my 2nd console AC power supply to power the ISS as I wait for Tuesday's delivery of the new PCB/SIMM board.  I have water tightened the AC power supply as best I can until that time.....

Needless to say the removal of the Super Cap in the end did not help...The ISS board is toast and chewing up any power source.......

Glad I could help.  The failures that "look like" power problems are rather hard to diagnose, and sometimes impossible to fix at the component level.
