Title: LR4/414D project & Upcoming Snow Season
Post by: spweather on October 25, 2017, 12:46:29 PM
I'm intrigued with the LR4/414D snow measuring project and am considering giving it a try this winter.

I've read through the related topics here and over at Weather-Watch and it appears (to me) that most of the discussions are hardware related.

My initial questions are regarding software. What are the steps required to get the data from the LR4/414D to my personal weather website?

I see reference to 1-wire, is that additional software that is required? My weather station is a Davis VP2.

I assume Weather Display provides the data/graph to ultimately post on the personal website, what settings are needed to accomplish this?

Are there alternatives to using WD as the source of data to post to the website? Example, can the LR4/414D upload to a MySQL database?

Thanks in advance for your feedback,
Dennis

You will need to either write or acquire a software program to read serial data across a serial port....

I wish to install this LR4 laser snow depth device.

I need software that will run from a iMac using OSX

Are there any users that have the LR4 measuring snow depth whose data is logged into an OSX device?

Thanks
