I dismissed the popup and only about 4 lines of the article appeared. There was a message if I wanted to read the whole article I needed to register.

Maybe the US Gov't banned the site due to mention of Huawei/Hikvision/Dahua?

"The Chinese government owns 42 per cent of Hikvision and relies on the firm to monitor ethnic-minority Uyghur Muslims. In 2017, some Dahua cameras were found to have backdoors that allowed access to video feeds; the firm has claimed to fix the vulnerability. " US Gov't banned Hikvision and Dahua.
