Per the above question:
I have the Pantec display, the rest of the hardware stopped communicating after about six months and I ditched it about a year later.

We really enjoyed having some idea of the weather in our local environment, and I'm hoping to get something going that has a constant display I can have in our living area. We're not in a position to waste money again. Rain is the best entry point (we can see out the window what breeze is happening).

There isn't much point to us having to look at our phones all the time (we can do that with the great new [Aussie] BOM app, just not very local), so hoping to reuse what I have left.

Fingers crossed,
Chris

you can use a WH2910 (or clone like PanTech) display console only with a WH65/WS69 outdoor array to display data. It won't be able to display the WH40 rain gauge readings (it can post a few extra sensor values to ecowitt.net but not display them - see also link below). The GW1100 is a separate displayless console whih can receive all Ecowitt sensors of the same RF frequency within the limits of its maximum (see table of content and related table in https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=40730.0).
The GW1100 can receive the WH40 - and it is oblivious of other consoles ...
If you don't want to invest in the HP2551 console which can also display all available sensors, you can use the Android Personal Weather Tablet app on an old (or new) Android tablet (https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=39453.0) together with your GW1100 using its custom server functionality.
