WH32 EP availability question
« on: October 22, 2021, 03:14:27 PM »
Anyone have an idea when WH32 EP will become available again?

Asking here because I have sent few inquiries to Ecowitt support and a week has gone by and no response.

Not sure if they don't know, or if no longer shipping this to US and is another item that need to but from Ambient but silence has me wondering.

Thanks
Frank

Their silence may be due a backlog created by the Chinese public 10-day holiday (1-10 October).
And the WH32-EP is not on stock as per their new inventory information.

Well as I finally have assembled the setup I want (*) - I have een monitoring the warehouse inventory daily for a couple of weeks now. The basic unit Ecowitt do have in 868MHz in storage, but all other measuring extra components I want the inventory for 868M versions are just simply 0. (Well they had a few WH31, but now again sold out)

So I'm ready to order when Ecowitt has the components in their inventory.
Ecowitt:
  • GW1102 Wi-Fi Weather Station with Solar Powered Wireless Anemometer, UV & Light Sensor, Self-Emptying Rain Collector
    • GW1100 Ecowitt Wireless Weather Station Gateway
    • WS68 Wireless Solar Powered Anemometer with Light & UV Sensor
    • WH40 Wireless Self-Emptying Rain Collector Rainfall Sensor
    • Outdoor Temperature and Humidity Sensor
  • WH31 Multi-Channel Temperature and humidity Sensor (8 pcs)
  • WH51 Wireless Soil Moisture Sensor
  • WH45 Indoor CO2 PM2.5 PM10 Temperature and Humidity 5-in-1 Air Quality Sensor
  • WH57 Outdoor Wireless Lightning Detection Sens

Well, they seem to have changed their policy - earlier you could order independent of availability. Then you had just to wait and the product got built based on your order, which could take a couple of weeks - and seemingly often created impatience and some frustration on the buyer's end.
Now you can only order when the item is on stock. No pre-order etc.
You may still communicate with them via email (support@ecowitt.com) and tell them that you want to order a 868 MHz WH32-EP - this might accelerate the process as a WH32-EP is not so often purchased being rather expensive. Hence they wouldn't build big stock in the first place for such an item.

Still radio silence. Things happen for reason so...
At this point considering it omen that don't need this sensor and instead use funds for future 2ndary Davis sht and use my old 7714 for it to compare to fars for fun.

The EP models are usually custom made to order. They are not mass manufactured.
So there will likely never be large stock numbers for these devices.
