WS-2310 wind sensor always reporting N/NE?
« on: June 06, 2020, 06:40:22 AM »
Hey all. could use some help. About a month ago I put my old Lacrosse WS2310 back up as my WMR200 anemometer had gone kaput. Lately I've noticed that the wind sensor is always indicating North or NE wind even though the actual wind vane tends to be pointing in a south easterly direction most of the time (in line with reports from sites like windfinder.com).

Has anyone ever experienced this before? The wind sensor is a long ways away from the Thermo/Hygro unit so it's hooked up via Cat5e (2x 10m cat5e spliced together to the phone cords at either ends. - I know thats a lot of splices and places to go wrong).

The funny thing is, the wind speed appears to be within the normal range (though last 2-3 days I noticed some max wind speed spikes suggesting transmission errors, most of the time the wind speed reading appears to be reasonable.).

Any idea what the issue could be? Is my wind direction sensor likely faulty?
