Hi!

Quote
I don't know much about the API but is it likely that webcam images might be accessible via the API?
The wish to be able to send the images via custom server was brought to Ecowitt's attention. What has become of it, I do not know.
The last reports about the HP10 are quite old. In this respect, there may have been some changes to the firmware in the meantime.
I am curious.

At least in the API description I have, there are no references to this.
But the camera will send the data completely independently of a console. In this respect, there will be a separate API solution (if at all).

Oliver
Many thanks, as always a comprehensive answer!!

Doing some idle surfing today I came across this

https://shop.ecowitt.com/products/hp10

Looks like HP10 has been given a model name of Wittcam

Anyone else seen any details?

seems like they are still populating the website

https://shop.ecowitt.com/en-fr/pages/landing-page-wittcam#undefined

the tech specs link takes you to 'wittpool', or the WN36 as it was formerly known

I notice as I flick between pages that I can briefly see photos, maybe they are currently hidden or its something to do with my browser settings

Tech pages updated now - no longer refer to WN69!

Not sure how they compare with other cameras folks use for weather cams

Pages still don't flow, so clearly a work in progress

I would assume 3 months free cloud storage means to be useful there will need to be a cloud subscription - unless there is an export option

5m power cord would be an issue for me, does anyone know if there is a compatible longer power cord from other sensors?

thanks, it's quoted as 12v and not sure about the connectors

Thinking about it my issue is going to be field of view rather than power!

You should have no problem in opening the box ( having 4 screws in the back ) if the lens is M12, you can easily adapt the field of view ( the wider the field the shorter the lens )

P.S.
As the power cord is 'USB', power supply should be +5V

Sorry, I'm not being clear

It's getting an adequate field of view that will be the problem on my site, too many trees!

Some need cutting back anyway but a location with a decent sky view and power available nearby is going to tax my tired old brain!

Hello,

1) Can you power the HP10  camera with the WS6006 Solar panel kit?.

2) For WIFI transfer is the LAN & WiFi Gateway GW1100 compatible?.

3) is there an internet link to see the last image (of this type = https://images-webcams.windy.com/08/1208681608/current/full/1208681608.jpg

Thank you in advance for your response

1) I'd say the hp10 camera can be powered with a solar panel: https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=40080.msg421887#msg421887
2) I'd say the camera connect directly to the router ( so is independent of any gateway )

P.S.
added 2020 user manual

1. Yes judging by that post, no solar panel on their website yet, maybe that is to come. My issue would be the power connector

2. I read somewhere that there would be 3 months cloud storage on the ecowitt servers. Not sure if it would be possible to export the images anywhere, such as to a personal website.

I think it is a really weird designed camera. Due to that, I think many people who buy it will have issues with placement.

At 29.50 GBP, it's not going to be very good quality or have many settings.

Good evening,

I'm still going to test this webcam, because my BLOOMSKY no longer sends images to my site, no more APIs, you have to connect to the application
I tried a WEBCAM: c tronics but impossible to send the images to my site
I don't know which WEBCAM to use to replace my Bloomsky

I'm not sure how you can access images, they are all in the ecowitt site as far as I can see with no download,

I may be wrong, as you say details are sketchy at the moment

I await confirmation from ECOWITT

In the manual ( attached to my previous message ) there is no mention of this capability ( for a good quality camera you can take a look at hikvision's )

I would prefer that Ecowitt just open up their site to other cams, as opposed to camera that seems to only have one function (Upload to Ecowitt.net) . Well as far as I can tell, that seems to be the only function.

But I get the marketing, want a weather cam, have to buy ours to be on our site.

It is a rather cheap looking cam, looks like a nanny cam, used for indoor use.

For reference, these are my cams.
I'm not buying a single purpose cam, all of these are ONVIF and support multiple protocols.

I have CCTV security cameras bit they are not located appropriately for weather watching

I might be in the market for an affordable single use camera, rather than buying a relatively expensive security camera

Depends on how easy it is to use the output for more than just populating ecowitt net

Regarding camera power consumption it should be really low.
Ivano reported, on an italian forum, that a single 18650 battery ( without solar panel ) powers the camera for 9 days ( and indeed the panel pictured in previous page is quite small ).
