Thanks to everyone who actually has a unit in the field and reports of them keeping on operating.
All the thoughts I worried about were from a skeptical point of view, not knowing how they made these sensors and what real world experience was, so your reports are reassuring.
I guess it just depends upon how persistent some of those pesky critters are. What makes a place attractive to their minuscule brains is still a mystery, but then again, why would a mouse chew a perfectly good plastic coated electrical wire, either? Must be tasty or their little brains get overwhelmed with 60 Hz AC?
