Putting a Vantage Vue Online
« on: June 29, 2014, 04:18:46 PM »
I would like to put my new Davis Vantage Vue online via WiFi. What is the easiest and cheapest option?

If you have a USB data logger than you can get a meteobridge...

That's the most inexpensive way in my own opinion.

Good luck!

If you don't have a data logger, add a Meteostick to the Meteobridge... or as Ambientweather calls it "Airbridge".

If you have an IP data logger, you can use any wifi bridge.

Bushman,

No. That's for the whole kit.
Meteobridge, Meteostick, and USB Cradle for Meteostick.

I hate how AmbientWeather sells this things on their site... Very confusing and misleading.
You can but it all separately for allot cheaper.

But don't you need all three parts to go online?  I see the Airstick is 159 Euros (approx  $200) which, while a cool device, makes going online more expensive than a netbook at Davis (ugh) logger.

That is right. Though is not need it, The advantage you gain is that if you use meteohub you can connect up to 8 devices/sensors with the meteostick.
For first time users is a bit expensive, For veterans is an investment that pays off.

I can add sensors to my meteohub without the need of a special console. :)

Would you please expand on what you mean when you say "online"?

There are many alternatives depending on what it is you are actually intending to do.
