Severe Storms hit Dallas

(1/2) > >>

AWL:
Confirmed tornado hit North Dallas last night. Reading the news, depending on the source, anywhere from 65-120k have no power. Looks like a lot of damage but no serious injuries reported as of this morning. In the picture below off Twitter the guy looks a little shell shocked. Picture taken just after the tornado hit.

Lots of damage in north Dallas... ~20 miles to my south. I have not heard of any deaths... Thank God! Our station recorded a 56mph wind gust at 12:19 AM. Lots of trees down in the neighborhood: https://twitter.com/PlanoWX/status/1186270888859242498

I have attached a radar image from right after the wind gust. It looks like circulation developed along the front edge of the squall line near our house and was tornado warned moments after to our east where there was structural damage to buildings near North Allen and Fairview.

Would love to see the Storm Relative Velocity image on this....

lddaly:
The velocity image was not very impressive, but did get a little more organized a couple of frames after; however, I only took the one screen shot.

waiukuweather:
night time is scary for residents but there was heaps of lightning flashes to illuminate it in the videos I saw
