Atlas Anemometer Sensitivity
« on: April 24, 2021, 09:02:43 AM »
Has anyone compared the Atlas Anemometer to other brands or models to see if it starts as good or better than others? I have found mine to be very good at starting in low wind. It starts before my Iris 5 in 1 every time. My wind speed will read 2 and 3 MPH before the Iris even gets going. It's like the Iris is struggling to start and is stiff. I have cleaned the bearings in it and checked the cups which are very loose to turn...
I thought maybe some of you might have other brands like the Logia, Davis or Ambient Osprey to compare.

It’s the same for me. My Atlas will always start before my 4-year-old Iris and stays spinning in a light breeze while the Iris will stop spinning.

OK, so I took apart the 5n1 again and cleaned the bearings, put a drop of Break free oil on them, spun the shaft really good to mix everything into the ball bearings, put back together, and now the 5n1 starts and runs when the Atlas is stopped... So these bearings need attention every few months.
