From Blitzortung Facebook:   =D>
'I am deploying my Blitzortung station, just I finish my E-field amplifier. This new station will be located in Hermosillo, Mexico. Looks like the first blitzortung station in Mexico. "
Hermosillo is in Northwest Mexico, and Francisco will be a big boost to our West and Southern areas, as well as an important addition to coverage in the 4 Corners and Western areas. He'll also get plenty of help from the West coast and Texas stations, and coverage and counts should go up almost immediately.  He may even give Lonesome Stan Silversword a boost out in Maui. Not to mention our lonely South American stations.
Cool!
I expect we'll see him on the boards here, soon...  ;)

It looks like he(?) is up an running with E-Field only. It is mongo huge at 620mm.
This might be the answer for the Western stations. I am blown away by the performance with 200mm, the 620mm is really pulling them in.

1023   Hermosillo   E-Field Antenna   Mexico

I saw a link to WxForum on the website referenced on the Lightningmaps.org page for station http://www.climason.com/. Click the "Idioma" (language) drop down box to select English.

Station 1023 is already making a contribution to the network performance. That is great. =D>

Thank you for your welcome.  Nice to hear Greg that your know Mexico. This forum has been very very help to me, is nice to read wonderful people that share experience and take time to answer our questions. For me this help me to understand blitzortung system, but more to understand that distance between our stations is too short when we make focus in trying to be more better persons.

Thank you guys, and your are very welcome to Mexico. I am her, your Mexican friend.

PS: If you are moving around Hermosillo, please call me.

Hi guys,
I am checking participants station and some stations are in Idle status. Is it a new status or station fail? Top 20, 13 were idle status.

Thank you.

I think a main database is down at the moment, and with it the new interference mode thresholds.  I'm not positive, but that may have made some stations switch to interference mode - is it possible they're showing up as idle?  Or perhaps it's just the database itself acting up.

Your station is doing very nicely with just the E-field amp on the lightning near Houston. Great strike rates!

When I order my station, loop antenna amp was included too. Now I see that some stations are using both antennas (Loop or ferritas and E-Field). The performance is increases if both antennas are used?

Thank you.

There are some advantages to using dual... if you have a specific type of interference at times. Presently, the server will only use one channel of information to 'locate' a signal. The E field can send three. H field has two channels. Together they offer 5 channels... best one wins.   E field is expressly designed to be used under about 500km. H field for longer distances, generally.  Later, with some of the project goals, and the data that can be used, overall system performance will likely be better with a dual operation, that is, the network data will be enhanced. The reason is that some specific characteristics of a lightning stroke can be determined with E field signals, other characterists with the H field, depending on environment, distance to cell, etc.

Your system amazes me, and others... you are doing well with only E field. This is the first indication you also had an H field amplifier and antennas that you could add... Outstanding!  There is a big difference between the two... build it up, hook it up, and have even more fun!

Way to go, Francisco!

Too much Cutty Sark for me to decipher.

Is what you meant that with the H field Fransisco, our Hermosillo contributor, has brought on line is helping the Hawai'ian station verify more strikes?

Or is there another Hawai'ian station live now, too?

Heh,.. no I was only suggesting that if Francisco's H field performs as efficiently as his E field he would at least overlap Lonesome Stan out in Maui... sorry for any misunderstanding... Some of my moments are more senile that others...
