Meteobridge send data to weatherlink.com **SOLVED**
« on: November 26, 2021, 02:13:45 PM »
Due to hardware issues, I just swapped from a TP_Link Meteobridge to a RPi. Since th e conversion all has worked except WL Cloud.
Meteobridge thinks that all is well

But Weatherlink is stuck at "Last updated: October 25, 2021 / 3:32 PM"
Davis support does not seem to be able to tell me if data is reaching their server. Their response is :
"** Please note that we will be closed for Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday.(11/25 - We will re-open on Monday 11/29 ***
Have a great Thanksgiving!

Hello, I am not sure how to configure the Meteobridge software.
If you use WeatherLink software, then we could assist you more.
The last time we saw the device is Oct 25, 2021 01:32 PM PDT."

I have gone back and verified ID & Key. What is the correct "Server URL" ?  I am using "wl6.weatherlink.com/bin/php" but I cannot find where that came from. I have not found any place that was written down except a meteobridge configuration data file.

Thanks for any clues as to what is wrong.

The correct place to look for is indeed the MB configuration file
xweatherlinkurl wl6.weatherlink.com/bin.php
xweatherlinkid 001D0A??????
xweatherlinkpass ??????

The correct Server URL:  wl6.weatherlink.com/bin.php with a dot between bin and php , not a /
Succes,

Wim

Correct Server URL "wl6.weatherlink.com/bin.php". Can't help much with the RPi

But how does your RPi connect to your Davis station/console? What is your Davis hardware?

This was the solution:
"The correct Server URL:  wl6.weatherlink.com/bin.php with a dot between bin and php , not a /
Succes,

Wim"

It was wrong in my conf file. I do not know when or how I got the file corrupted. The TPLink was working so  i must have corrected the TPLink  after I saved conf.

Thanks to Wim & Mattk for the guidance.  I am surprised that weatherlink did not reject the data instead of just not processing.

. . .
I am surprised that weatherlink did not reject the data instead of just not processing.

More and more upload servers do not want to waste time by executing 404 (invalid link) scripts.
Why should they answer all those script kids and bots?
