Ecowitt HP2553
« on: February 02, 2020, 04:44:05 PM »
I’m just wondering if anyone has the Ecowitt HP2553? If so how do they work and are they as good or better than the ambient weather stations? I’m looking to get one because it’s one of the only ones you can get from Canada easily. Thanks!

Ambient and Ecowitt are both made by Fine Offset. They are the same thing (except for some firmware differences).

* Ambient does also sell some less popular models that are not Fine Offset though.

Just curious if you went ahead and purchased the HP2553?

Of interest the Canadian price dropped on Sunday - February 9th with a $20.00 Coupon off on the Amazon.ca site.  At $399.99 I don't think they are moving since the price is $80.00 more that the US Ecowitt site.

I have contacted Ecowitt about this price discrepancy since the Canadian Amazon and Ecowitt US prices are very similar.  I would like to see the price drop to $349.99 with the $20.00 coupon bringing it down to $329.99.

I am looking to get one but the weather is on my side - still buried in snow so I couldn't even mount one until late March or early April.
