I've taken a shot of the current block and gauge block together.  Wind direction of the gauge block is 180 degrees off.

I've just put the current block back to try and replicate this, but it works fine for me. The wind direction matches the gauges every move. Have you got your blocks set to update at the same frequency?

The only problem I see with having both blocks there, is the current block permanently shows Loading…

I have already received several tips so I might release a new version even today.

Some ideas:
- bug fix for wind direction (already implemented, the current download file has this fixed)
- allow limiting the UV index to something lower than 20 for places where it does not get so high
- it is currently not possible to use this together with the current block, only one will then update, so make it compatible
- gauge for dew point

With regards to the success string, that is really odd because I use MB myself and many other users do and never ran into any problems with using the script just as is and to be quite honest, I am not sure I completely understand what the problem was.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words:



The current version of MeteoBridge complains in red that the "Success:" string is blank, even though it still appears to work.  (I'm feeding two different scratch installations in the image above, the second one using my modified code with the "OK" output after the MySQL update call.  If MB doesn't get an OK, it reports an error in the live data status tab for that post.)

I'm still having a few missed MB updates even after going to -10, but it seems to be a marked improvement over the original -1.  I have not dug deeper to see why those updates did not process, but they don't appear to be time-related and it may have been because I was giving the web server a workout playing with blocks and stuff.....

well I think it does not really make any difference. MB does not get any response, but it does the update, which is the only purpose of this.

With your time issue it probably depends on your connection speed and how fast it is able to execute all the other tasks, you might want to just play with the interval to find the right compromise.

Current block is OK Carl, this is how you show the wind arrows. Not the direction from which it is coming, but in the direction in which it blows. This is correct.

I can confirm that I have been in touch with Will and it was a misunderstanding. Will appologized and it was not intentional. Footer is now ok and I am glad it was like this - there have been cases where people simply didnt care, ignored my email and left it as it is - in which case that was about all I could do. I did not implement any backdoor to the template LOL

nice Sunday afternoon and Im glad you like the (literally) easter egg . Just a few updates and one simple new block for the weekend

New Block - Ozone Forecast

Probably no need to explain this any further as the title is quite self-explanatory. There is no need to set up anything, the forecast is based on satellite data (data source temis.nl - permission granted for Meteotemplate users) and your co-ordinates set in config.php.

Block update - Gauges 2.0

I always consider all feedback you provide me and questions I get. The gauges seem to have very positive feedback, but lot of you already suggested some new features and there was a little bug that needed to be fixed. I therefore quickly incorporated those changes and there are now several new options.

Here is a brief summary of new stuff:
- possibility to show gauge for dew point
- possibility to show the compass using the same type of gauge as the other ones (normal needle)
- possibility to enable/disable compass gauge title separately (as it does not look good with the line needle)
- possibility to show time of last update - just like the current block - at the top
- possibility to limit the UV gauge to a maximum 11 instead of the default 20
- now compatible with the Current block so they can be used along each other on the homepage
- bug fix for the compass (wind direction gauge), which was showing direction shifted by 180°

Block update - Weather Networks 2.0

I substantially extended the options for the Weather Networks block. It is now possible to include many other networks and clicking the link will automatically open a new window where the user can share a link to your site. There are also a few links to popular weather related websites.
