I like using my Synology NAS because it makes moving files around easy and fast within my home network across several PCs to the NAS. It's a large upfront cost and will take several years for a payback on the investment but I also use the NAS for backing up PC's, storing and streaming video and audio files, etc. I had used a service for years but ftp issues led me to use my NAS, which I had already purchased as a backup device. Once I realized I could host my site, I purchased a new, faster NAS that is now going on 3 years old. If you go this route, just be sure to follow all the security protocols that Synology provides.

I been hosting off of a windows system. But I been thinking of jumping on the Synology party. Might watch ebay for good deals. Thanks for the info!

If you get one on eBay, make sure it's at least a 2-bay (2 drive) version with expandable memory to 6GB. Anything less will be too slow to act as a reasonable web server. The DS220+ would be a good choice.
