Topic: Has WU Eliminated Weather Stickers?

I have searched their site today and cannot find the page for weather for your web site / home page or any weather stickers.  I am trying to replace the rapid fire flash stickers on my page as they no longer work (Flash is dead). 

I am sure this has been discussed ad nauseam, but are even static stickers gone from WU accounts?

Also,  I noticed in my account on the WU page that it says my membership is a Paid Membership that is set to expire 1/6/21?  I never paid for a membership.  Are they about to start asking for fees to host PWS's??

They have disappeared from my website as well.

I really liked the old style plots and that is gone too.

I have had a "Paid Membership" for about 20 years. The deal was that if you submitted your data, you got the ad-free version of the site. I see the 1/6/21 expiration date on mine as well. If it does expire, I'll give it the same treatment as I did with AWEKAS..

Ha!  OK now that's funny.  What is this now, their third resurrection?

They probably come and go faster than one can keep up with.

Oh, crud, the stickers are already gone.  I'll just have to go back to my version that don't use them.

For now, I am going to delete my wunderground page and just put a link in on the left stub menu.

I also had my camera disappear again. Resubmitting the camera info gets it back. I am getting to be "less than happy" with them lately...

The old stickers, including the banner type and Sun and Moon widgets, are being phased out, replaced by Weather Channel widgets.  Victoria at WU Support sent this reply to an email I sent her this morning about the return of these stickers:

You should not rely on these working.  If by some accident they are now, they will not for long.

I decided to do a page redirect in 5 seconds to the WU page. (for now)

The only reason I hesitate to drop out, is that my 95 year old Dad visits the WU link for my station all the time. (yes, he uses email and web at 95!)

I would probably get some complaints if I stopped sending data.

So if I read the tea-leaves right, shortly if not already, none of the old WU PWS stickers will work ever again, and the new Weather Company stickers can't be tied to a PWS.

So are there any home-grown scripts out there to create a similar live data sticker from our local data? Or what are the best other weather service stickers out there people are using?

'I use boring old Weathercloud.  Seems to work fine for free
