TWC's version seems to zoom much better than the GE earth one.  Its so nice in the lower 48 today, its hard to get a good feel for it 8)

I was hoping for clouds with elevations, like the terrain, so you could tilt down and see the cloud profile.

Without 3D data that wouldn't bee possible.  Someone would have to write a software program for that. I know GR3 uses Google maps but I don't think they have 3D images either.
 Now that I think of it there is a company that has 3D sat images. I can't think of it right now but I have seen them before.

GR3 doesn't... but GRAE does... of course, it would take a super computer to do the whole US in realtime.

Elevation data can be inferred from the cloud temps, I believe.
