Topic: Has WU Discontinued some or their RADAR Images??

I have noticed for the last few days my NE radar image  has been blank.
Source is here   http://icons.wunderground.com/data/640x480/ne_rd_anim.gif
And blank is seen here  http://www.smythweather.net/

No big deal to replace the image but I thought it worth asking if anyone was aware of a change prior to all the re coding.

I am looking at a couple of Accuweather images but I have heard they are extremely picky about re use of their images on web sites.
May have to go with a standard NWS mosaic image if I can narrow it down to the NE region. Will work on that tomorrow I hope

Actually I did have on my other setup but I just never altered the way the script was written for the new layout when I put it online.
I may just do that!  Probably be easier that anything else since I already have it running.

I just submitted a 'ticket' to weather underground to see if they'll tell us what the problem is.
Not sure if this was intentional or inadvertent......if intentional I would have though the image would be removed entirely; instead the main frame is still there but just no content...

Looks like it'll be fixed soon!

Thanks!! I will be looking for the finish and when it's back I will restore the image back to the original. In the interim I have my br1 image or GR3 in it's place.

It seems to be back now.....real images start showing up at 5:30PM EST.
First few frames are still black but frames after 5:30 are present.

I'm having problems also, and it continued until an hour ago. Just started about 3-4 days ago - would get blank blue screen with WU logo in place of radar image. Came back yesterday for about 2 hours - then gone again. I'm concerned. Anyone else still having problems?

I haven't changed my image back to the WU radar yet..evidently being a tad slow may have been a good thing this time

Just for the sake of asking..has the image returned yet or is it still AWOL ?

Yes, the Radar seems to be working fine now.
