Hello everybody.

I need help setting up an Ecowitt Station with Weatherwizz. Has anyone done this?

I'm trying to connect an Ecowitt weather station to the Weatherwizz service as a trial to see if it would work to upload my weather data to a WordPress website.
I have an Ecowitt ws90 weather station.

The weatherwizz setup page about configuring it to work with Ecowitt says the following.

Go to "Settings" in your Ecowitt Mobile App and then copy the settings shown below. Once we receive data from your station, you will be redirected to the account page.
However, the Ecowitt mobile app doesn't have anywhere to enter the settings displayed on the Weatherwizz website?

I can only presume that the Ecowitt mobile app has changed or the Weatherwizz instructions refer to a different mobile app from the Ecowitt Weather Station app I downloaded.
I have emailed weatherwizz support but I am still waiting for a reply.

Has anyone used the Ecowitt with weatherwizz and could give me a few pointers?
Cheers,

Paul

If you take a screenshot of the Weatherwizz setup page that asks for those settings, and post the screenshot to this thread, we can better assist you.

Hi Paul, I can assure you Ecowitt works with WeatherWizz. I've been using it for around 18 months. Support has been good at getting back to me when I've had questions.
Looking at my android phone, I used WSView Plus.
When opened, need to add your station.
Then it will be seen under device list.
Select your station, then more right top
Select Weather Stations
right arrow at top: select Customized
Protocol =  Ecowitt
Server IP = api.weatherwizz.com
Path = /ew/update/wizz code / wizz code/
Port = 8088
upload =16 seconds

Hope this helps?

Hi Steve.

Thanks for your reply.

I did get it working after reading another online thread about a similar post, where someone had put the settings that you need to enter in the Ecowitt gateway hub, not the mobile app. That set me on the right path, and after logging on to the gateway with my laptop, I found them.

I'm interested, what do you use weatherwizz for? Is it also to publish on your own website?

Cheers,

Paul

I don't like any of the LCD displays from all manufactures. I want to be able to see my weather data across the room at a glance.
So using a Rpi clone running armbian  and a monitor in kiosk mode, I can scroll thru current radar, tide info, marine forecasts and my local weather station (weatherwizz).
I have a Peet Bros weather picture with bright red leds that is great. Still tweaking a bash script to send Ecowitt API data to the weather picture. I'm not a software guy, so it isn't pretty, but it is working!
