Hi, I am from Lake Forest, CA. Generally our weather tends to be very boring here with some winters where we get almost no rain, although this past winter was very wet. We have dry summers with no thunderstorms except in the rare case when monsoonal moisture pushes east of the mountains. Even then, the storms usually die out as they approach the coast due to the cool ocean and very stable marine inversion. A marine layer is present from mid spring to mid fall, which keeps the beaches cool and sometimes foggy, with the peak of it during May Gray and June Gloom.

There are a few interesting things, such as microclimates, where the beach can be fogged in and 60 degrees, but a short drive inland is it close to 100 degrees, which happens often in the summer, but even this does not vary much from day to day. Due to the lack of excitement, most weather forums I've been to have very few California posters.
