Running WeatherLink and Cumulus Mx
raul_sbd:
Hi
I would like to run WeatherLink and Cumulus at the same time, can someone give me a rundown of the instructions and a direct link to the installer? I need VirtualVP running on my Windows 10 machine so I can run WeatherLink and Cumulus at the same time.
I have a usb Davis data loger running on port 4.
If anyone can provide detailed instructions on how to do it please? I’m quite bad when it gets to computers..

VirtualVP has not been updated since 2010 and although downloads are available it is unlikely to work on later Windows versions or Davis VP2 and the author is no longer contactable. You need a different solution.

Sorry but that is partially incorrect. I and many others here have used VVPro on Win 7 all the way to Win10 and Win11 with no issues. It works just fine and was written for the Vantage Pro 2. It runs trouble free. You will need to purchase VPSE (Virtual Serial Port Emulator) by Eterlogic.com for $24.95 to make it all work. VPSE is easy to set up. If you need any help please ask and I or several other users will help you. Currently my VVPro is feeding data seamlessly from my Vantage Pro 2 to 6 different weather programs. At one time I had a copy of VVPro on the weather computer feeding data to multiple weather programs while at the same sending data to a second copy of VVPro on a second test computer feeding multiple weather programs on it. So it really does work.

Yes but my understanding is VirtualVP does not support the LOOP2 packet feature so it is not 100% compatible which is why I have seen it not recommended.

I use VPSE with WL and WD. I suspect running CMX4 and WL will work using VPSE.
