WD and Ecowitt HP-10 webcam

MM0ZIF:
Hi all,

I've been beating myself to death with this, it might seem intuitive to others, but to me, nope. I bought a Ecowitt HP-10 camera and am having great difficulties configuring it with weather display. Has anyone had any joy or any tips to point me in the right direction?

It would be useful to have more details on what doesn't work for you.

Is your camera successfully publishing images to Ecowitt.net?  Perhaps it would be useful to review this info page:

Edit: looks like the forum software doesn't like that link format. Here is the same link except I intentionally corrupted the link activation by making the 4th character "x" instead of the correct "p".  So you can paste that text into your browser and fix the spelling before you press Enter, or just search the active page link for "HP10" until you find the camera info.

I go into the Weather Display folder and find the wdwebcamcapture program. Once it's open, I go to the  "IP camera Setup" tab and click "I want to use an IP camera', then input the URL to your HP10. it will be http://192.168.xxx.xxx/capture with the Xs replaced with your network address. Then I go into the Weather Display Control Panel, find Webcam and make any changes, like overlays or file locations, etc.

I'm not saying this is the best way to do it, but it's how I have done it for the last couple of months since getting the camera, and no complaints.

MM0ZIF:
ok, so the stream is detecting in WebCamCapture, I set the directory to H:\wdisplay\webfiles\ and the file name to MainCam.jpg I check the file and it is being created and updated.

then I go to WD Ito control panel, Web Cam, Timestamping is enabled (switch green), The Java Cam page is set to a directory that is accessible on my server, create files is enabled, and upload Timestamped files is also enabled. So everything there seems fine, I then goto update all webfiles etc, then check with the remote FTP server and nothing is getting as far as the remote server. Obviously the other data for running my site is being uploaded constantly, but not the Webcam.

Am I missing something?

I am also noticing that weather display is pausing regularly (Becoming non-responsive)

In the FTP and Connections part of the Control Panel, check out the Web Cam upload tab. I have all my cam images listed there as well as their upload times.

It sounds like you're super close!
