I've also had problems with birds fouling the CoCoRaHS gauge and tipping-spoon gauge as well. "Bird Scare Tape" is used in farms to keep birds off the crops/fruit. Available at your local farm supply store or internet store. https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=45464.msg472317#msg472317
