Add metal foil to your 3D printed radiation screens for better temp measurement!

As part of ongoing development for Dr. Beddows instrumentation course I calibrated an inexpensive Bh1750 Lux sensor to measure PAR using natural sunlight & Apogees clear-sky calculator.  Because the frequency bands are so close, the correlation between Lux and PAR is excellent under natural light conditions. However along the way I discovered that 3D printed Stevenson screens have a fatal flaw - they are nearly transparent to the IR that they themselves start emitting after the sun hits them. You need to add some kind of foil layer to block that, and you can take a look at my design (which is still being tweaked...) for ideas on how to modify your own printed shields:
