Munged rich text formatting

I'm getting instances of incorrect HTML tags being randomly inserted into my posts.


It appears that the QUOTE tag gets ignored and the font size is set to something incredibly tiny instead. The QUOTE tag also appears at the end of text that isn't a quote. Looks like a case of faulty attempts to pair tags.


Modifying my post afterwards doesn't change the behavior.

I think it's browser dependent and may be caused by an extension in your browser.  Which browser are you using?

I did a small set of markup corrections on your post in another thread.
The issue was having [QUOTE] instead of [quote] and some extra [font]...[/font] entries.. I removed them and fixed the [QUOTE] markup.

It's been driving me mad for months. . . copying anything to a post in the forum becomes so tiny it's invisible.

Mainly using Edge. I don't think I've posted about it, but I have had correspondence with Ken by PM. . . he thinks it's an extension in Edge, but his final comment was

Forum won't let me post the actual tags, and I didn't add the [/size] to the quote, or the extra [size=2px.../size], either.

Safari, no extensions.
