Hi there,

not sure whats going on it you have replace it already and in such short time its failed again.

Prodata has a bit about vpro2 wind vanes here:

thanks. i saw:

On VP2 systems, cable damage involving the direction conductor will cause the direction to show North, either constantly or, with intermittent wire contact, from time to time;
Any other direction issue usually involves a faulty direction potentiometer in the VP2 anemometer or faulty solid-state direction sensor in the Vue ISS. There is typically no fix for this other than a new VP2 6410 anemometer or Vue ISS

i hope that something that cost nearly 200 euro isn't that rubbish!

the Wind Speed / bearing is replaceable but not the Wind Direction bearing unfortunately.  does seem strange yours has failed so soon, unless its been inadvertently damaged.  cheapest I have seen is £150 here in the UK.

Thanks. I climbed up to it. The connections and wireless transmitter box are ok. Clean and dry inside. However the vane felt ‘gritty’ when swivelling. I took it off and sprayed a bit of WD40 in and then put it back on. For now it is reading correctly. If I’ve wrecked it too bad as it’s out of warranty. Expected a bit better of something so expensive. See what happens
