Title: HP10 , maybe another use case
Post by: Rover1822 on February 10, 2023, 01:09:18 PM
I was thinking, which I don't do well :), be an added extra if the unit had motion detection. I know , forget it.

But I have a use case, where I could use it, not really weather related.

I already use a GW1000, and some temp sensors in my small office server room, if it had motion detection be a bonus as the environment is static so motion detection would not have a lot of false positives. So I could be notified if anyone was in the room, and there shouldn't be any unauthorized people in there, other than me (remember, small server room).  There are other reasons, for the added security, that might be confusing that I don't want to get in to at this point.

Also, I could survey the server rack, not a huge thing to look at, for maybe a blinking drive light that wasn't reported to me. As the room is normally dark, different color led on a server in the rack should show up.

I know, just another really weird use case. Thoughts?

Since the HP10 doesn't seem to really tie into the weather station units, why not just get any IP cam off Amazon or someplace that has motion sensors?  And if you are in a server room, there are plenty of hardline ones with motion sensing.   Foscam G4 comes to mind for a wireless one.

Yeo, I can do that, I have 11 cameras at the house, all feeding an NVR, blue iris. ( 2 20X PTZs, 9 other cams, all varieties, foscam is one )

But I wanted to keep this as simple as possible, anyway, just a weird use case.. LOL
