I saw that! Thanks bunches 8-)! I hope to post more this weekend. I am in the process of trying to create categories for the different forum sections, and I plan on adding some crazy forum topics, so stay on the lookout!

When I have a lot of homework or just work I need to work on in school, I work for 2 or 3 hours, and then take 1 hour off to rest my mind before working again.

During that hour I worked on my forum: Changed it's appearance and added a couple of posts. Thanks for posting info 8-)

Does anyone know how to make a banner for my forum and advertise it for free?

Still trying to figure out the question above and a couple of other things, which is under "Help!!!"  on the "Weather Website Help" page of this forum...

The forum has plateaued so I am trying to come up with a way to attract people to it... any suggestions (Bikinis have already been suggested guys )

You can make a banner from anything.  When I first began, I would just compile clipart from a bunch of different sources.  You can use something as simple as MS Paint, or use the free application of GIMP.

The banner on my forum was made using Photoshop.  My PWS site was made with GIMP with a background image I personally took.

It takes a long time for a forum to take off...especially a weather forum.  What I would do is find a few local folks that are interested in discussing your topics.  Every now and then, others will filter in.

I'm proud because when you google "Gulf Coast Weather", we're the first link to pop up, above The Weather Channel :)  That took a few years to accomplish though.

It's a heck of an accomplishment to be above TWC! Great job!

Thanks for the advice

I will definitely start looking for some locals

You need to be noticed by web crawlers, there are ways to encourage their attention. Try Googling for pointers! If you can get you site listed by search engines, your in!

Good luck  ;)

yeah, I'm going to start working on that cause I have learned that I need to give my site attention to get it on the "map". I am thinking of contacting my local newspaper and seeing if they are interesting in promoting it, but I do not want my site to be used in emergency situations, so I'm just not sure at this point. I also am going to get rid of and add new features to my website one of these days: school has just been too busying
