Shortly after release of v1.7.1 is there a new version v1.7.2 available for all EasyWeather devices:

Changelog EasyWeatherV1.7.2:

• Fix the issue of time synchronization failure

Apparently this bug was introduced with v1.7.1 and has been fixed.

Use the app WS View or WSView Plus to update!

I've never had any luck with updating this firmware. I have the older 2551 console (no WiFi) but all attempts to connect to it using the WS View app on my iPhone has been unproductive. I follow the prompts in the app but the buttons you need to press for the selected console don't exist on my console. I haven't noticed any anomalies with the 1.7.0 version on my console so am not too concerned.

an older HP2550 console and no WLAN/WiFi doesn't exist (unless broken).
Everything else are other, older console models with different names.
The Upgrade is automatically offered in the WS View Plus app when the console is registred in the device list. For this it has to be connected via WLAN to your router, then WSV+ will find it.
What you describe is the pairing process - which should also work, but you can simply do this from inside the console. (gear wheel --> WiFi Scan)

I’d not bothered to sit down and work it through but sorted it out today. All good. WS View+ saw the console once I made config change on my router. The firmware change log didn’t show a lot that was needed in my setup.

if you were on 1.7.1, there is no not change compared to 1.7.2
if you were on an odler version, there are more changes - you have to include the earlier changelogs too

What I meant to say was that my older console does not have the newer WiFi capable modem which I believe allows firmware update from the console itself.

Have you done a firmware update for the HP2550 ? latest firmware version is 2.0.5
You can update via an SD card etc...
