New console WN1821C - with integrated CO2 sensor!
« on: February 06, 2023, 05:22:00 PM »
Hi!

Has anyone noticed the new WN1821C console or even used it yet?
The really interesting thing about it is the built-in CO2 meter. I wonder which sensor is installed there?
And whether - as with the WH45 - a fan starts up every time a measurement is taken?

According to the manual, this console also supports another WH45.
I wonder how these different sensors are actually transmitted via the Ecowitt protocol.
So if anyone is already using this device, please let it send to EAR as a test.
Thanks a lot!

add:
The new keys for the internal CO2 sensor are probably called co2in and co2in_24h according to the firmware.

add2:
Ecowitt.net already knows this sensor and displays it accordingly as "Indoor CO2":

So the key names are indeed co2in & co2in_24h.

Considering the price ( 15$ more than wn1980_c ) can't be an ndir co2 sensor.
I think probably one of those eco2 sensors ( something like this ).

can't be an ndir co2 sensor.
The good thing about it: a fan is probably not necessary. The question is, of course, how valid the "measured" values are.
But I can't buy another new console just to test it - my wife beats me ...
;-)
Fortunately, the device is not yet available. The Shopify shop doesn't have it in its range yet.
Yet!

so basically it's a WN19x0 with CO2, WH31, WN34, WN35 display and without rain, wind and pressure display.
And I think the display pictures in the manual are wrong - they do not match the product page (are probably taken from a WN19x0 manual).
Wondering if it can really show two (internal, external CO2 combo) sensors at the same time (on ecowitt.net) - the local API doesn't allow for two CO2 sensors though (or it got extended). Maybe the WiFi firmware portion for posting to Ecowitt.net does ...

It can (at least on Ecowitt.net). Verified.
The trick is to use new key names. Have a look to the two new keys mentioned in post #1. There's also a screenshot of the new "Indoor CO2" tile.
I expect a new GW1000-API documentation soon.

I expect a new GW1000-API documentation soon.
the owner of such a console should see the API response (e.g. with @cheeroip not yet fully functional GW1100/GW2000 app - the API response works though) and also see if new markers with respective values occur there (unless they [need to] create a new command for that).

Ecowitt confirmed that
- the current WN1821 manual has wrong pictures and will be corrected
- the current GW1000 API does not consider the inbuilt CO2 sensor (something their design team is reflecting on now, but imho the API is unlikely to get changed for this)
- the CO2 values can be retrieved via the http API (http get)
