WS68 anemometer power supply issue
« on: January 24, 2023, 02:54:43 PM »
Hi!
For the past 10 days or so I have been noticing problems displaying wind speed and direction data on my WS68 device. I replaced the battery and also reset it, but there is no difference. Interesting, because there are no problems with downloading and displaying information about battery status and sunlight. :? I saw today that it is actually a problem when switching from battery power to photovoltaic panel and vice versa. But during the part of the day when the lighting was greater than approx. 120W/m2 worked without problems. Yes, solar panel is clean and NO there have been no lightning storms for the past few months
Questions:
a.) are the capacitors slowly worn out (the anemometer is 2.5 years old, black sensor case, summer temps. over 35°C)?
b.) has anyone tried changing the capacitors and it was ok? (I read that someone on the forum removed them)
c.) is it possible that there is dirt on the wind speed sensor (I haven't opened it yet) and it needs to be cleaned? is it even possible to open it?

I am attaching photos of today's records.

Thnx for your answers. Erazem
