Moving to new host.
« on: December 10, 2022, 11:48:31 AM »
This is not going too well.
Weather Display first. I get the following error
Quote
230 OK. Current restricted directory is /
TYPE I
200 TYPE is now 8-bit binary
Change to remote Dir /home/rosalind/mad-weather.com
CWD /home/rosalind/mad-weather.com
550 Can't change directory to /home/rosalind/mad-weather.com: No such file or
directory
141: FTP protocol error: 550 Can't change directory to /home/rosalind/mad-
weather.com: No such file or directory
The clientraw.txt files etc are being loaded as per schedule
I can't work out how much is and isn't loading into the /pwsWD folder

Weewx I get a similar message and the same 553 error, can't open that file or no such file or directory.

iSpy running as an agent also gives the same error.

I kept the directory structure the same when I transferred files across, so I only had to change the login details. I also used the server address not mad-weather.com, which I do anyway. I know the login details are correct as the clientraw files are there.

Anybody able to shed any light on what is going on here. I have a ticket open with the hosting but I think they are scratching their heads as well.

There are more similar problems, especially with one.com hosting.
Make sure that you have the correct path as every web-hosting company uses adifferent structure.
If
  /home/rosalind/mad-weather.com
is correct, just try by removing the first / , it should look like
  home/rosalind/mad-weather.com

Wim

P.S. I checked your status at . . . ad-weather.com/pwsWD/status_popup.php
WeatherDisplay is uploading WD-api file correctly as it does not use FTP for that.
All needed files are OK.
Only seems that the last nightly roll-over was skipped 5 days.

Also you have to check your cron-job results. If you are using WD for that, no problem as it is not using FTP for that.

Thank you Wim for you reply, and you are right it was a file path issue. The forward slash didn't make any difference one way or the the other, but as it is an addon domain and I have a separate ftp for this one I had to remove  /home/rosalind/mad-weather.com for WD and just have the folder weewx and webcam respectively for the other uploads.
It now works perfectly, or at least I'm not getting any errors now.
Loving the template, it was so easy to set up and I needed something to replace my Saratoga hash job until I get time to rebuild that. I like the display of the reports.
Thanks for all you do.
