Topic: Connecting to Ventus W832 with WSView (or similar)

Hello WX

I've been reading through so many posts in here and cant figure out how to make my Ventus W832 upload data locally instead of Wunderground. For some reason there isn't a single post in here mentioning the W832.

First step must be to get WSView connected to the station. The PWS is connected to my wifi. I have the IP and MAC and I've tried all combinations of devices in the WSView app. None of them appears to work.

So, how to I make contact with the Ventus W832? Also, how do I find upgraded firmware for the device?

The device is not a Ecowitt/FOSHK device as far as I can tell.
When i search for it, the specifications tell: "Publish local weather station data on public weather platform (Weather underground & Weathercloud) "

So you have to use another app to install that device. Not the ecowitt wsView app.

I have to agree, I don't know who made the Ventus W832 , However, the Ventus W830 is a Fine offset product.

But they are quite different.

Edit: I believe this another case of a weather station vendor, rebranding stations from various manufacturers. It is unfortunate the model number is very close to one we know about.

I was afraid so. I should properly have investigated further before buying. Found a guide for Ventus W830 and assumed W832 would be the same.

Guess I'm stuck using WG cloud to access the data.
