I've used the device key for a long time and I've had the same issues as everyone else the past few days. Now it looks like the only data permanently missing is from 6:20 PM ET yesterday through 9:25 AM ET today but everything has been working since then.
One thing that may only be a coincidence is that my irrigation system controller, Rachio, sent me an email today indicating that as of Oct 1 they will no longer be using PWS Weather (
https://www.pwsweather.com/) as their weather inputs for determining what days to water (or not) but they are switching to WU. Furthermore, they stated
"To get the most out of a single station, we recommend using a Tempest Weather System which fully integrates with the Rachio App and does not require a third-party service." But, my Davis sending data to WU will still be used by Rachio. Most of my neighborhood with houses that have irrigation systems rely on my weather station feed to Rachio and control their watering days. So, maybe WU was making changes to support working with Rachio's database? Probably not, but you never know!
As usual, Ken, thanks for tracking this down and posting it. Fingers crossed that the WU changes and using the device key has straightened things out.
