Ambientweather.net dashboard
« on: June 27, 2022, 02:22:43 PM »
It seems that Ambientweather.net has made a change in the layout of their online dashboard, at least on Windows (Edge browser). They have locked the "Tiles / Charts&Graphs / Social" menu at the top of the window so it doesn't scroll with the content. It gives a much cleaner and less cluttered look IMO. I like it.

Now, if they would just give the option to change the order of the tiles ....

Thanks, I don't really have any concerns. I like the look of their new dashboard layout.

Actually, I don't like it.  I have a separate computer monitor with my security cameras displayed and one quarter of the screen dedicated to the Ambient Weather page.  I size it so I can see temp and wind.  Now that pinned tab bar takes up a significant portion of that small window needlessly.

I don't expect this will change so is there some other simple piece of software that would run on a PC where I can get back to what I had?

The Weather Cam Beta is quite something though.

I had to zoom the weather map out to about a 75 mile radius before it picked up a published web cam. They must still be pretty scarce in my area.

I find they are scarce in general.

If you see how the time lapse view follows a marker along the graphs while playing it is amazing.

It be nice if they grouped the sensors by type and not the channel number.
It's a cluster mess when you have a lot of them.

.And when using the AW Meteobridge it does not show all the sensors on the dashboard.  For those reasons I hardly us it.

I agree. I would like to see them improve the dashboard so the user can specify the sequence for all of the tiles. The channel number is arbitrary, probably for most users is just the order that sensors were added to their system.

Example of going by the the channel  number switch. Temp gets mixed in with the soil. Nothing to do with the order added.
