why would amazon.co.uk not ship to the EU ??
They do - at least for many other items.
And I can have any other item from the Ecowitt store on amazon.co.uk shipped into the EU.
(But I usually wouldn't as the prices are not attractive)
But that WH45 is sold out already anyway.

True - but somehow this offer is exempted from EU delivery as it appears - all other items from the Ecowitt store not.
Maybe due to that 30 day return thing.

It might have something to do with this, I have never had it before on an Amazon Order

Amazon were really quick, just got the unit. Pairing was a matter of putting in the batteries. Smart little unit really impressed.

I have it running, and I can hear the fan running every minute. However this thing is running on batteries at the moment so why is it taking a reading every 60 seconds, according to the list it should be every 600 seconds.?

a running fan does not necessarily mean a transmission of data ...

why so ? It might collect data in a loop - only that on batteries only the loop takes 10 minutes and on USB power one minute only

Okay but that is not saving power as I would expect on Battery as the fan still runs every 60 seconds. Why have a different data rate on battery?

do you know what consumes more energy - a fan running for a short time or the transmission of data ?
This will answer your question - and I assume that the transmission takes significantly more energy.

I would have said the fan uses more energy....
