GW1100 creating wrong data in WeeWx
« on: March 14, 2022, 11:01:11 AM »
I recently moved from my old AcuRite system to the EcoWitt GW1100 and sensors.  Rather than use my old weewx installation,  I set up a new Raspberry PI and installed the GW1000 driver from GitHub.   The install worked completed without an error and everything is configured properly. The GW1100 is sending data to weewx, however the data is completely off.    Currently the outside temperature here is 27.7 'F   but WeeWx is reporting 52.9'F .  The humidity is currently 53%  but again, weewex is reporting 25%.   The wind speed has remained at a constant 9mph for the last couple of hours in weewx even though it has varied between 15.88 and 3.2mph.     The outside temperature has been slowly rising during the day from a low of 18'F to the current 27.7 - however weewx shows that a high temperature of 70'F was reached at 3AM and has been falling since.   Obviously something is wrong, but I have dug through the massive amounts of data and I can not find any errors being reported nor can I find any values that correspond with the erroneous data that weewx is reporting.   Any ideas on where I should be looking for the issue?

So you are saying the that GW1000 shows e.g. in the ecowitt.net dashboard and/or in the WS View (Plus) app the values you are referring to in your original post and that weewx reports deviations .... correct ?

Are you sure you have activated the GW1000 in weewx.conf (station_type = GW1000) and your weewx is no longer running on the Simulator ?

What would be helpful is to have a copy of your weewx.conf and the syslog from the weewx start on over two archiving cycles (i.e. as a rule 10 minutes). Set DEBUG = 1 in weewx.conf and restart weewx.
Then we can look into the situation and might get a better understanding of your situation.

I edited weewx.conf and commented out the entire simulator section, restarted weewx and didn't observe any changes.   I then re-enabled the standard skin (rather than the seasons skin) restarted weewx and the new values were correct.   I then changed back to the seasons skin, got a somewhat visually different index.html with the correct values.   I'm going to clear the database and monitor everything for a few hours.   While the first reboot didn't change the output, I'm pretty sure that your idea about using the simulator values was correct.   Thanks.
