News in the Ecowitt shop
« on: November 06, 2021, 03:28:57 AM »
Hi!

There is now a WH57 Plus.
This is the normal WH57, with which the Radiation Shield RS-00001 is also included.
The surcharge for the WH57 is only 5 dollars - an interesting price at first glance.
However, Ecowitt simply increased the WH57 without a shield by $10 to $44.99.
Presumably they want to sell off the Radiation Shield RS-00001. Maybe there will be something new soon?

The shield can actually be used well as weather protection for a WH57. If you can attach the shield. For mounting on a pole, its diameter must be exactly 20mm.
As a protection for a temperature sensor it is rather unsuitable. In direct sunlight, the temperatures rise very sharply.

I use the RS-0001 for weather protection for my temp sensor. It's mounted on a north facing wall that never gets direct sunlight so it's fine for that purpose

Same intention here to put on the north facing wall - my LaCrosse temp unit gave reliable values there...

But yes ordered 2 * RS-0001 as the second one will be for WH57.

Another interesting observation:

The price of the WS80 is up $10 (now $149.99) and the WH41 is up $30 (now $89.99).
Are these already excesses of the chip crisis or just Christmas business?

Hi!

The price for the leaf moisture sensor WN35 has been reduced significantly from $139.99 to $69.99. So that's half!
I had never understood before why this sensor should be so incredibly expensive. With this price, it should probably be able to please a larger number of users.

For the WH41, I was told the price increase is due to the use of the new Sensiron (Swiss product) which is much better than the previous PM sensors (for example, it has some certifications).

Hi!

Interesting.
The price of the WS6006C console has changed significantly (!) in price. The previous price of 149.99 USD is now 269.99 USD. One can only speculate about the reason for the price adjustment - component shortage, EOL, demand greater than supply or simply an oversight.
No idea - in any case, I am a little surprised.
Unfortunately, even at this price, the device is still not available in 868MHz.

Regards, Oliver

Amazon had the WH57 on big discount, at $29.99 CAD so I got another one of these. My other 2 are first gen ones (which work ok).

I made a shield for it using my kids sand castle templates and hung in their clubhouse which is about 17ft high so should get some good clearance. They were not too happy at first, but when I told them they now I have a lightning detector in their clubhouse, they were ok with it!

Your installation looks nice!    Do you have a link to the deal?  I can’t locate it…maybe I’m too late!

Hi!

Today, the Ecowitt page finally published the prices for the HP2560C as well as the WS90 - each as a single device.
However, the HP10 camera has not yet been unveiled. And Ecowitt has not yet announced the price for the WN36 pool temperature sensor.
But maybe that will come in the course of the day.

Looks like work in progress...

As I have the lightning sensor and a WN34BL sensor, I need to get another gateway now that I have sent my Wittboy/GW2000 back.

Question; What makes the GW2000 so expensive? I know it has a dashboard compared to the others, but after owning one, I can't see what would make it £45 more than a GW1100?!

New news from the Ecowitt shop:

Quote
Please use up your points within this year, as this site will close the
sales function and transit to the shop.ecowitt.com, thank you.

So at the end of the year, sales via ecowitt.com will be discontinued and only sold via the "new" shop.
So if you still want to use your points, you should hurry up ...

you don't need to use your points from the old shop by buying in the old shop.
You can write an email to sales6@ecowitt.com and ask to use your points in shop.ecowitt.com
they will issue a voucher for you with the value of your points at that date (1 point = 0.01 USD)
which you can enter/use in the payment process at shop.ecowitt.com
