Hi!

I have already tried several times to start the firmware update via VPN - it does not work.
The update is suggested to me when I make a direct connection and select the appropriate station.  But the update bar remains at 0 and a timeout follows after a while.
Too bad, I thought that should work by now.  Could one of you already successfully update a device without being directly in the LAN?

It's stuck with me too. The download doesn't start when selected in WSView.

It either shows a time out message after some time or a wrong "update success" message.
Sent an email to Lucy/Henry.

the reply from Ecowitt is:
"It can be a bad connection for getting the files from our server. Could you try it later?"
Trying now for 5+ hours, but let's see
EDIT: 12:48 CEST - it's working now

Hi!

Anyone encountering any problems with v1.6.0 and sending through the custom server function?
In the German forum I just read about such problems, which also appeared in the penultimate update.

In the meantime, the v1.6.0 has apparently been withdrawn - Ecowitt is again delivering v1.5.9.
Does anyone have more information?

Oliver

No issues here - my WH4000SE/WS2320E keeps on posting properly to my RPi where the weewx interceptor picks it up - no gaps.
I was using the custom server function with my HP2551 console too for some special beta tests for the upcoming CumulusMX 3140 functionalities: a console sending Ecowitt protocol can be a CMX station - a console sending Ecowitt protocol can also be used to add extra sensors to a station (non-Ecowitt e.g. Davis, or also Ecowitt). Same with WU protocol.
During the tests no anomalies were noticed. Both consoles on WiFi V.1.6.0
