Need help configuring my ambient weather bridge
« on: June 20, 2021, 09:03:16 PM »
Hello,

I am able to login into the meteobridge but it’s been a long time and I completely forgot how to configure it after getting my new modem. I am stuck in the network part and it also ask me to add my personal station and I don’t see the ws2000 listed. I should mention I have a gw1000 which is currently running.

I suggest you follow the instruction on
https://www.meteobridge.com/wiki/index.php/Home
It's all explained there.
The Ambient Weatherbridge is a rebranded Meteobridge with a special Ambient license to upload data (also) to ambienweather.net.
Otherwise there is no difference.

Hello,

I am able to login into the meteobridge but it’s been a long time and I completely forgot how to configure it after getting my new modem. I am stuck in the network part and it also ask me to add my personal station and I don’t see the ws2000 listed. I should mention I have a gw1000 which is currently running.
And, the WS-2000 cannot be picked up by Meteobridge, only the GW1000.
Just select GW1000 as primary station and enter its IP address in your local network.
The principal steps are described in the WiKi (see earlier post)
If you want the WS-2000 data logged and archived (beyond the WS-2000/WS-5000/HP2551 console's ability to save/archive data to the microSD card), you'd need to use e.g. weewx with the Interceptor driver and the HP2551/WS-2000 customized server option.

Only limitation, the weewx interceptor driver expects either WU or Ecowitt protocol for the custom server option - the WS-2000 cannot post in Ecowitt protocol (only the HP2551 console and clones can) and the WU protocol only provides the basic sensors like outTemp/Hum, inTemp/Hum/Pressure, wind, rain, solar - any extra sensors which the console can display won't be sent in the WU protocol. As far as I know, there is no functionality in the interceptor driver to process the Ambient protocol (which is a very recent "invention").

But, at the end of the day, you want to see the data of your sensors - so it doesn't matter which console provides it to the application software - here Meteobridge.
So your GW1000 can receive all sensors and Meteobridge via the GW1000 too, so it would suffice I guess.
