7in1 Outdoor sensor no wind speed data.
« on: March 14, 2021, 03:42:27 PM »
Hi,

my 7in1 outdoor sensor stopped transmitting the wind speed data in December time frame.
One day back working in January.

Has anyone experienced the same fault in the past, or just bad luck on my station?
Will return the sensor to Froggit/Germany the next days, but first await the delivery of a spare sensor I ordered totay.

Br,

Lemuba

To finish this thread, I got it fixed by myself

1. Recognizing that Froggit only provides 1/2 year warenty, I orderd an new sensor
2. The wrong one #-o But the WH1080SE Sensor in parts compatible [tup] But of course not the main PCB with the DP1500 Dongle. It get´s connected but with wrong/strange meassurments...
3. But also recognizing, that Froggit sells meanwhile only a 3 wing outdoor sensor with the DP1500 - Hmm?:
https://www.froggit.de/?cat=c40_DP-Serie--WiFi-Wetterserver-Bridge--dp-serie.html&cPath=40&page=2
4. Also recognizing that Froggit does not offer the original WH-4000SE two wing sensor as spare part.

Finally I switched over the WH1080SE Wind speed and direction gauge to the old WH-4000SE sensor and everything working fine again [tup] [tup]

Best regards,

Matthias

Not fully correct:  ;)

No functional difference between Bi-wing and Tri-wing, just shape (and bi-wing gives less space to birds and snow).

Froggit gives one year warranty (German: Gewährleistung, different legal term than German:"Garantie")
But, as per the law, after 6 months the complainer has to prove that the defect was already there when delivered.
Here Froggit are very rigorous and show little good-will attitude (German: Kulanz).

Therefore, if someone needs a new WH65 in Europe, I keep on suggesting buying the SBS-WS-600 for 98 EUR at expondo.de where a 3-year warranty by the reseller (Steinberg Systems) is offered and the price is just 10 EUR more than the replacement WH65 from Froggit (however you get a WH65 [3-wing],  a WH2650 (=GW1000) and a WH32B (T&H&P sensor which the GW1000 has inbuilt).
[before Christmas the offer was even 66 EUR, unbelievable]
