PWS Weather Website
« on: June 12, 2020, 06:51:19 PM »
This is my PWS site made from the PWSDashboard template. Will tweak a few things along the way but any feedback is welcome!

I like it!

And if I understand correctly, PWSDashboard works with the custom server upload feature on the GW1000. Might have to look into that.

It looks very good, I'm liking this template, but the min/max data (temp, press, wind) seems to be from when you open the page rather than "today"?

That's one hell of a pole you have that web cam on!

I did show this website to some people in the US & they couldn't seem to get on either & they were from Florida too. No clue why but I'm going to put this on a different web server in future.

looks good
How did you get 4 squares across the page , rather than 3
I'm assuming using this dashboard template

https://pwsdashboard.com/

i suspect you already know this
you need to run 3 crown jobs , on vastserve, you can only run cron jobs every xx & not at a specific time
i have played around and used a scheduled job to run batch files from an old laptop to get the max/min and rainful numbers, at least thats my understanding
https://pwsdashboard.com/
https://pwsdashboard.com/documentation1912/cron.pdf

i have also been playing with the UV gain , as my device reported very high UV levels which is unusual in UK
set at the moment to 0.6

Just trying to get the cron jobs working now. I have the .php set for every 23 hours so hopefully that'll work.

Yes, i was thinking of that too, but i thought 23 hours would move by 1 hour each day , unless miss reading that info
23 hours from 10:00 is 9:00 then 23 from 9:00 is 8:00
as i say i may just have been miss reading
I'm sure it will run quite fast , so the 5second run time should not be an issue.

I wanted to display on a TV so had to use an old laptop anyway, hence the scheduled BAT files

Be very usefull to know how you get on ?

I think the history file will tell you how it worked & if rain & max/min files copy
http://kenthcwx.vastserve.com/live/history_popup.php
BUT i'm learning the system and just playing looking at the PHP and various files, so maybe wrong

how did you get the 4 squares horizontal, my dashboard only has 3 , and 4 on the TV would work so much better

Under Optional Blocks in settings, you can set the first option to "Yes, we need 1 extra block on the right of each row" & that should work. :)

Seems to all be working now at least with updating after adding in the cron roles in the settings. Personally not too bothered if it doesn't save completely on the system since I have WU & such to go back on.

I'll have to change the webservers anyway in future most likely but I do find it weird why it's not working for you lot. Maybe a flawed security check or something?
