Could someone help me out with just updating the display? I'm not too sure which theme.ini file needs to be used from the download and which needs to be replaced?

WS1001homweatherstation\Update EasyWeather\

windows users plug console into usb port with appropriate lead device/console will appear as a NAND in file explorer
,you only need to copy over the theme.ini and theme folder nothing else required its not a full firmware upgrade .

mac users can only use the SDCARD upgrade method so you will need to obtain a firmware download from the manufacture or reseller of your device and then replace
the theme.ini and theme folder in the downloaded package from your manufacturer/reseller .

beware of using the firmware download from the ambient wiki site it is specifically for north american consoles and you would need to make additional changes to the main.ini
file to make the upgrade recognise the outdoor/ indoor sensors . best practice is to get proper firmware release from your manufacturer/reseller .

i still only use 2.2.5 as numerous upgrade releases have caused issues with various units . so always backup your original firmware on the console.

I was able to copy over all the files except: Alarm, Handel-Gothic-D-light, MBICON, select & 6. These appear to be locked on the WS? Is there a way to access these files without running the application?

Okay, I'm v2.2.9, so I changed the MAIN.ini to 2.3.2 and I placed the Update Easyweather on the SD card. Restarted and nothing happened - the update was no loaded? When I looked at the device info, it still shows 2.2.9?

you will have too edit the main.ini and update.ini and change the date forward example:

Update Time=2016-03-03 12:00:00

I can confirm that updating (re-writing in an editor) the date and the firmware number (to ones higher than your previous one's in 'main' and 'update' ini) works. So when you put the SD card back in the Weather station it will recognise it as an update when you plug in in and turn it on.

I can't comment on doing this via USB direct to the weatherstation since I use a Mac.

I modified the Update.ini on the WS to have the same version and date as the updated EasyWeather app. I rebooted but the "new" software did not update? Is there another Update.ini I need?

Well I finally got around to updating to 2.2.9. Being in Australia I had to modify the Freq parameter and alter the version # (I changed it 2.9.95) and date (changed to 2-2-2015). Update as installed but now I have no network connectivity. Indoor and outdoor units are picked up by console OK but I don't have the Internet or Wifi symbols showing at all and don't have the network setup options available in my setup menus.

HELP - any idea what i can do to get these back?

Hi Pooley,

I am convinced that 2.2.9 is what made my panel's WiFi malfunction. I have been out since March. The panel is out of warranty so when I tried, I didn't get any help. But if you look at the current manual page 42 it says you must have this level of firmware to communicate with EasyWeather IP. That was my motive for trying it.

7. EasyWeather IP Software
Note: The  console  must  be  running  Firmware  Version  2.2.9  or  greater  to  use  the  software.

I already had a thread started here. In it you will find many folks who just tried again and got it to work. I hope you are one of those!

G'day mate. Saw that thread but didn't click with me to post in that thread  #-o

I have it back up and running now (on 2.2.5) but can't get 2.2.9 to take properly without killing the WiFi.

Will elaborate in the other (more appropriate) thread later today.

Thanks for the encouragement Brian (-:

My 2.2.9 works with your display tweak:
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I just had to remember to edit the 'update.ini' by changing 'DeleteDatabase=true" to false (so as to keep my old data) + also re-calibrate relative Hpa (and also edit the firmware version to a number higher than what it was before to enable the update via memorycard - since I don't own a windows machine)

eg; if your firmware is 2.2.5 edit it to 2.2.6.
In my case I had allready edited it to 2.3.2 so had to change it to 2.3.3 to achieve the results in this post - but it's just a case of entering up a number that is higher than what firmware number you allready have installed and you'll be good to go

.. everything works - so thank you very much +1 rep
Where did you get this awesome screen do you have the files to get is look so good, ore where did you get it from ? thanks

http://www.idesign34.com/homepws/ws1001.php

update contains not showing below zero sign and compressed file size for main.png no other changes to functionality so only update if you are not seeing the below zero minus sign.

if the download link returns a 404 page please email me it is due to testing a rather large database that pushes the server cpu to 100% usage at times , hopefully it will be moved off in the next few weeks.

ps.. don't believe everything you read sometimes things happen for a reason. often individuals will jump to negative conclusions without any thought or facts.  need something just email me
Wher did you get this awesome display software on idesign34 the are gone please help me

Brian, the author of the HomeWeather template and WS1001 display, for personal reasons has passed on his work http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=29817.0

Hopefully this will be helpful.

NOTE Brian did *NOT* pass the WS-1001 Screen Mods in this release.  There are too many risks and he & I do NOT want to be responsible for bricking/losing WiFi connectivity.

lol

well, I already started to build my own custom template based on WordPress. It doesn't use clientraw or anything, it's all JSON driven. Guess I'll continue to develop it.
Keep my posted i am also started to costomise the screen files

I was able to copy over all the files except: Alarm, Handel-Gothic-D-light, MBICON, select & 6. These appear to be locked on the WS? Is there a way to access these files without running the application?

The solar rad shows the number with a "-"? How can the graph in the upper left display the forecast?

I have the same problem with the "-" symbol did you fix it yet ?
