"New" Book about history of weather
« on: June 14, 2015, 10:01:47 AM »
For Father's Day, my daughter sent me a book, "The Weather Experiment: The Pioneers Who Sought to See the Future" by British author Peter Moore, which I find to be a VERY interesting read. It is basically about the life & trials of RN Admiral Robert FitzRoy, captain of the HMS BEAGLE on the Darwin expedition, but NOT limited to just him, and his wish to 'prognosticate' weather.

What did you think of the author's "writing style"? It certainly was NOT "dull rhetoric" in my eyes, but rather enlightening, although I did have trouble with a few archaic British words.
