It's sad, but eNom.com is now in possession of weatherforum.net and is holding a private auction for the domain.  Auction has 3 bidders, but I can't find a way (yet) to get in on it.  Auction closes on 23-Aug.  Sent a note, but no response yet from eNom.com.

Ken

It seems now that Chris' decision to set this up this board in the interim was a "forum saver". Chris- thanks again for your work. :)

Good shot of Gary. I'm sure he has his hands full!

Hope you can get the domain Ken!

Squatter "namegiant.com" now owns weatherforum.net. The listing hasn't popped up on their site yet so I haven't been able to find out how much they want for it.

Well I guess I'd better change the Weatherforum.net banner on my webpage to the one here.  Even though it links to here I don't want to advertize for a squatter.  Most of the old members that are still interested are probably here now anyway.   :?

They are a name reseller, and I've sent a polite inquiry about the domain to them.. haven't heard back (other than from their anti-spam verification mail).

I'll keep you posted.

Best regards,
Ken

If you cannot secure the old domain name, I for one, think the new one is fine.  I hate to think of paying anyone who takes advantage of a co. going out of business and then taking all of the domains in "limbo" :x

Just like enom they are squatters. They grab domain names and then sit on them until someone pays the ransom.

I agree. However the final decision is up to Gary. If Gary thinks the domain is important enough to pay the price I will be glad to toss in my 2 cents worth to get it back.
