Advising Former Weatherforum.net users
« on: September 28, 2006, 02:17:09 PM »
I don't suppose it would be possible to send a bulk email to all the former registered weatherforum users to advise them of the new site?  I'm glad I found you again but it was by chance.  I note that you've posted the news up on several US websites but you did have several overseas users-like me!  These people are unlikely to pick this advice up.  Weatherforum/wxforum is by far the best site I have found for tech peer advice and nothing in the UK comes close so I'm pretty sure there must be other overseas members who want to come back to wxforum.

Thanks Andy!  We don't have a copy of the original member list readily available, but it's a great idea.  So far, about 90 of the former members have  found us, but that's only about a third of the original member list (as I recall).

I guess It's time to post again the invite to join on the other weather forums.

Best regards,
Ken

Ken,

Perhaps Andy could send you links to the weather forum he is aware of in the UK or Europe. He alluded to WxForum being much better than any of them. Then you, or he could post on them alerting a wider audience to the availability of this forum.

UK Forums you could try are http://www.ukweatherworld.co.uk .  I was going to suggest NetWeather too but a look at their site shows they seem to have had the same problem as Weatherforum.

Best wishes

Glad you found us Andy!  :D

Ken,
I just bumped the topic in Weathermatrix, Ambient support, and Gary's old WeatherLink forum.

Just to update things, I emailed around to all amateur observers & others I am regularly in touch with in the UK to advise them of the new URL and to encourage them to sign up again.  Hope this does some good.
